question about death

Did anyone hear about the tragic accident in Sardine last night? If you haven't, its in the newspaper. The parents both died and the two kid survived. Anyway, we saw it and the family was people we knew. The five year old girl is my daughters friend and I casually knew the parents. How do I explain this to my daughter? Any suggestions?

Oh wow, I'm really sorry. I hadn't heard anything. I wish I had some advice, but I'm not sure I would know the best way to explain it. I would pray about it. Again I'm so sorry. That is very sad. Sardine Canyon is so dangerous, I hate driving through it.

Sardine scares me too, my husband drives through it three days a week to work and I stress so bad the nights he's gone. I worry so much that one day it will be him and not someone else.
