Newborn support group Empty Newborn support group

Post by ellend Thu Nov 13, 2008 11:48 am

As a new member of the area, I am interested in starting a newborn support group. I recently have moved to the area from Moscow, ID and was involved in support groups that were provided through our local hospital (babies through 6 months) and then through a Success by 6 Program that included 6 months through 6 years. I am missing my moms and children and am wondering if anyone here would llike my 17 years of experience? I have certifications, but mostly I have time on my hands and some ideas for new parents! I also have 4 children who are grown, which is why I have some time now!

That sounds like a great idea! Is the support group mainly for first-time moms?

This reply is to both posts! The group would be for every new baby because, every baby is born into a new family! First time parents are great because they want to know everything, but repeat parents? Yes! First of all, the sharing is most beneficial for the group (and themselves) and secondly, they can focus on the baby they just had...for the moment! Another benefit is that there are things that they forget between children or can learn from one another. So, to answer the question, everyone would be welcome!

I'm all for it, Ellen! Just tell me when and where, and Violet and I will be there!
